Jayne Scott: Chair of Zero Tolerance Charitable Trust; Chief Executive of Safe Space, a charity which provides a
range of support services for those who have experienced sexual abuse; Deputy Convenor of Evaluation Support Scotland; Church of
Scotland minister (without parish responsibilities); particularly interested in enabling women and young people to develop their
leadership skills. Runs her own consulting business 'Pepper Consulting' which focuses on individual coaching for managers in
the third sector. Has worked in the third sector for 20 years and is passionate about nurturing learning organisations, being
resourceful, and believing change for the better is possible.
Ann Hamilton: Principal Policy Development
Officer (Equality) at Glasgow City Council; Member of Board of ZT Charitable Trust since set up 1995; Glagow City Council
duties include responsibility for development of Council's corporate policy and strategy on equality issues; Lead Officer to
the Council's Member Officer Group on Prostitution issues; previously seconded to the World Health Organisation
(European Office) to advise WHO Healthy Cities and WHO European Country Representatives on promoting and improving women's
health.
Dr Lesley Orr: National training and development worker based in Scottish Women's aid; former lecturer on Scottish
church history (Glasgow University); member of Iona Community; presently consultant to the World Council of Churches (WCC) Project,
Churches Overcoming Violence Against Women, based in Scotland but with a global remit to develop resources, practical policies and
a network of theological teaching and research.
Linda Shanahan: Scottish Trades Union Congress General Council Member; STUC Women's Committee Member and Chair (2002),
Lay Official Fire Brigades Union; currently seconded to the Scottish Executive for study on violence towards Public Sector
Personnel.
Elaine C. Smith: Actress who continues to promote the welfare and interests of women and children through her work;
one of the first celebrities to give support to Zero Tolerance and attended first ever press conference; key speaker at ZT's 10th
Anniversary Celebrations Reception hosted by Edinburgh City Council.
Prof Lyn Tett: Professor of Community Education and Lifelong
Learning at University of Edinburgh; her research has involved investigation
of factors such as class, gender, disability that lead to exclusion of
adults from post-compulsory education and of action community education
might take to promote social inclusion; joined Board of ZT Charitable
Trust because feels its aim of working with others to eliminate gender-based
violence is crucial if more equitable society to be achieved.
